Rexam, the international cosmetic packaging company, is returning to Torrington, CT,after closing a plant in 2004, reports The Register Citizen. However, the facility’s function will not be the same as the one that left.

The company that will return will be a warehouse and distribution plant that is currently located with the manufacturing plant in Thomaston, CT. A Rexam plant from Florida will move into the plant in Thomaston. This move was made because the plant in Thomaston and Florida both produce the same type of products, according to reports.

Mike Agogliati of The Register Citizen notes that the decision was made to relocate in the late fall of 2009, and Torrington was selected as the city to move the warehouse and distribution operation to. The property will now house the entire distribution facility that was once at the Thomaston plant.

Rexam is a global leader in packaging for the plastic makeup business and the supplier of choice for many of the world’s leading beauty brands. The company offers manufacturing in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
